He has eternal life.<br /><br />What about those people, who "received salvation" that are now atheists? These people no longer believe that Jesus is the Son of God (some don't even believe he was a real person who ever existed). In fact, they no longer believe in God or the Holy Spirit. Is this person still saved?<br /><br />If your answer is "no, the person is no longer saved," then what is your understanding of <span style="font-style: italic;">eternal </span>life? Either salvation is eternal, or it is not (...it is eternal according to the New Testament).<br /><br />If your answer is "yes, the person is still saved," then consider Mat 10:33 ("But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
